Machupicchu by Train

Day 1 : Cusco/Sacred Valley – Ollantaytambo -train station – Aguas Calientes

We transfer you from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley to the train station in Ollantaytambo where you board your train to Aguas Calientes.  Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes a Representative from the Hotel will meet you and transfer to the hotel.

You have the rest of day at leisure!

Early evening your Guide will come over to introduce himself and explain the schedule for day.

Day 2 : Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco/Ollantaytambo

Machu Picchu is the most important place to visit on your trip to Peru or South America. Was discovered in 1911 after lying abandoned for centuries. We catch the early morning train on one of the world’s great railway journeys.

The track slowly climbs out of Cusco passing through small villages on the high plains. The scenery is spectacular with wonderful views of the mountains and snow peaks of the Andes.

As the train descends into the beautiful Urubamba Valley we will notice that the vegetation becomes increasingly tropical. It is here in amongst this lush vegetation that we find the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu.

Day 1 : Cusco/Ollantaytambo train station – Aguas Calientes Pueblo

We transfer you from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley to the train station in Ollantaytambo where you board your train to Aguas Calientes.  Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes a Representative from the Hotel will meet you and transfer to the hotel.

You have the rest of day at leisure!

Your Private Guide will take you on a fascinating guided tour in the ruins. The tour will Last approximately 2 hours. Visiting the most important temples while you are on the place. The Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, Temple of the Condors (Mother Earth), and Temple of the Inti Watana, which served as a place to study the constellations, the solstices and equinoxes.

After the tour you have leisure time in Machu Picchu / Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon you will return to Ollantaytambo via train. We will meet you at the Train Station and transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco/Sacred Valley. train and all transfers.
