SACRED DOWNHILL Y MACHU PICCHU 2 DAYS

TECHNICAL LEVEL

01: Level 3 (medium): Bicycle through an inclined terrain with loose earth.

02: Level 4 (high): Bicycle through an inclined terrain with rocks and steps.  This means that you must have a minimum technical level to ensure your own safety.  If ever in doubt, there is always the option to walk down these more difficult sections.

DAY 1 SACRED VALLEY MOUNTAIN BIKING

We pick you up at your hostel at 8h30am using our private transport. We drive for 1h30min to the start point at Misminay (3950m).  From here we begin the descent in bicycle until Moray which we visit for 30 min.  Then we continue down the trails until we reach the Urubamba River (2630m).

We have lunch at Urubamba and continue to ollantaytambo to get train to the tourist town of Aguas Calientes. Travelers have the option to visit the local hot springs or relax and explore the town before dinner. Make sure you make it an early night to be awake for the ascent to the jewel of the tour: Machu Picchu!

DAY 2 MACHU PICCHU TO CUSCO

An early rise today, as you will walk to Machu Picchu at 4.30am, reaching Machu Picchu at 6am, which with luck will coincide with a beautiful sunrise!

Your guide will leave no stones unturned but feel free to challenge their knowledge of Inca history. Afterwards you have free time to dally with the llamas and show off your photographic skills. Those who still have the will can tackle Wayna Picchu, which actually looks down on Machu Picchu. A frequent bus service takes visitors back to Aguas Calientes, where you will catch the train to Ollantaytambo and then the bus to Cusco.
