Those thinking of taking this tour should be in reasonably good physical condition. The tour offers mid-level mountain biking, as well as downhill sections suitable for those with experience. The Lost Jungle challenge passes through wild jungle with many surprises in the form of fauna and flora. The animals that inhabit these forests include monkeys, pumas, peccaries, bears, snakes and deer. The flora is composed of big trees vulnerable to the lumber industry, medicinal plants, orchids and many other wild flowers. Waterfalls can be seen all along the route. This is a demanding adventure that rewards travelers for their efforts with a journey to Machu Picchu filled with beautiful sights they will never forget.
Lost Jungle Challenge offers a combination of activities, including mountain biking and hiking in wild jungle, on a route to Machu Picchu and the land of the Incas.
In Cusco, we have famous trails, including the Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the Lares trek to Machu Picchu, the Inca Jungle route to Machu Picchu and the Choquequirao trek, but the Lost Jungle Trail is an exceptional experience, during which travelers can enjoy the immense variety of flora and fauna and the fascinating history and customs of our region.
For two nights, you will camp (Glamping) in the depths of the jungle, far from anywhere with electricity, so make sure you take along a powerful flashlight.
The cycling route is 73 kilometers long and ranges from 4480 meters to 1500 meters above sea level, including a 6-hour downhill cross country mountain biking section.

LOST JUNGLE CHALLENGE TO MACHUPICCHU
DAY 1: CUSCO – OCOBAMBA (MOUNTAIN BIKING 73 km)
You will be picked up from your hotel at 5:30 a.m., and we will travel by vehicle for around 90 minutes as far as the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we will stop for 30 minutes to load the bikes, eat breakfast, and go to the bathroom. From here, we will continue our journey to Mount Yanamayo (4480 meters), the highest point of our tour, where our mountain biking adventure will begin. This is where we will set off on our 73-kilometer route, a downhill experience of pure adrenalin, during which we will see alpacas, llamas, waterfalls, birdlife, Andean customs, and much more. After stopping for lunch, we will continue in our vehicle, driving for around 30 minutes as far as Quelcaybamba, where we will camp in the jungle and eat our evening meal.
DOWNHILL OPTION (Single track)

DAY 2: WILD JUNGLE, OCOBAMBA – DELICIAS (17 km)
Today, we will eat breakfast at 6:00 a.m., before setting off on a 7-hour walk in the wild forest.Hiking uphill, we will explore the habitat of many bird species, including the cock-of-the-rock, woodpeckers, toucans and parrots, as well as peccaries, monkeys, bears, pumas, snakes and wild boars.This is a demanding hike filled with adventure, as we cross fallen tree trunks, rivers and natural bridges, and see many waterfalls. Along the way, we will see the so-called “tree of hope”, as well as poisonous mushrooms, tall trees, and many species of endemic flora.This hike from 1650 meters to 3250 meters above sea level calls for considerable physical effort, and the route to the summit will take around 4 hours and 30 minutes. From the summit, we will descend steadily over 6 kilometers to 1750 meters above sea level, and stopping to eat lunch at 1:30 p.m. After lunch, we will walk for an hour to Delicias, at 1420 meters above sea level, where we will stop to camp and eat our evening meal. If you would like to do some river rafting in the afternoon, on a 2-hour excursion, consult with your guide.
DAY 3: DELICIAS – AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO, vehicle and hiking
In the morning, after breakfast, we will board our vehicle for the 2-hour and 30-minute drive to the Machu Picchu hydroelectric station. Along the way, we will stop to visit the homes of local people and to see their crops of coffee, coca leaves, cassava, and their mango, banana, pineapple, avocado and citric fruit plantations. On our route to Machu Picchu, we will eat lunch before walking for another 3 hours as far as Machu Picchu Pueblo, where we will eat our evening meal and spend the night at a hostel. In the evening, there will be the opportunity to visit the local thermal baths.

Today we can experience a 4-cable zip line in Quillabamba, and add some extra adrenalin to your trip.
DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
TODAY, WE WILL VISIT THE INCA CITADEL OF MACHU PICCHU, WHICH CAN BE ACCESSED IN TWO VISITING SCHEDULES:
MORNING SCHEDULE, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
AFTERNOON SCHEDULE, from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Guided visits last for 2 hours, after which you will have 4 hours free to take photographs and explore. If you would like to visit Huayna Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu mountain, you will need to book at least 7 months in advance. Following your visit to Machu Picchu, we will return to the town of Aguascalientes and board the return train to Ollantaytambo, from where it is another 2 hours by road to Cusco. End of services.
